Science Spotlights: Finding New Species

Meet up-and-coming scientists on November 16, at 2pm and learn about questions at the forefront of research in this series of short talks. Scientists estimate that there are over 7.5 million species of plants and animals that have yet to be discovered and described. But in a world in which extinction may outpace discovery, how can citizen scientists get involved? Join Thalles Lavinscky Pereira as he shares how residents in Alaska helped him discover and describe a new species of snake worm gnat.
