Neither Icon nor Trinket: On Learning to Love Terracotta Figurines

Held in conjunction with the exhibition "A World Within Reach: Greek and Roman Art from the Loeb Collection," this seminar on Friday, March 24 offers insights into why small, broken and humble figurines were chosen for the exhibition. Former curatorial fellow Frances Gallart Marqués will share how these objects were made, what they were used for, who loved them and what can be learned from them, regardless of their state of preservation.
