Midwinter Revels

Join Revels for their 54th annual production of "Midwinter Revels," running for 15 performances from December 13th to 28th at Harvard University's historic Sanders Theatre.

This year’s "Midwinter Revels: The Selkie Girl and the Seal Woman – A Celtic and Cabo Verdean Celebration of the Solstice" is a family-friendly, sing-along theatrical experience that beautifully blends Celtic and Cabo Verdean music and solstice traditions. Set in a small fishing village off the shores of Galway Bay, the story unfolds as a community gathers in a local pub to celebrate the season. A child enters seeking a package that may have been delivered for his mother, who hails from a coastal town in Cabo Verde. As songs and dances fill the air, the pub transforms into a portal for fantasy, where a retelling of the Selkie myth — a Celtic tale about living between two worlds — takes center stage. Through music, dance, and storytelling, the performance inspires new connections within the community and sparks hopes for the coming year. Tickets are available for all performances, with discounts offered for youth patrons and EBT/WIC cardholders. For more information please visit Revels's website.
