Inside Egyptian Tombs: Teen Saturdays Workshop
Tour the tomb of a 4,000-year-old Egyptian Queen with virtual reality on Saturday, Sept. 14! Advance registration is required by Friday, Sept. 13. In this hands-on workshop, learn how Harvard Museums of Science & Culture create immersive experiences for visitors. Museum educators will introduce teens to virtual reality apps using Oculus headsets and other 3D media to explore this ancient wonder. Through activities, teens will compare this mode of learning to others to see which they like best. The $10 fee includes free admission to all HMSC museums following the workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring a smartphone. A limited number of tablets will be available for loan.
Teen Saturdays workshops are designed to build community and improve the museum experience for multicultural and Spanish-speaking teens. Workshops are presented bilingually in Spanish and English. Snacks are provided! Teens receive a membership worth $100 after attending three or more 2024 fall semester Teen Saturday Workshops, or receive a free admission pass (worth $15) for a return visit when they attend one of the four sessions. This program is presented by Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East, and Harvard Museums of Science & Culture.
