Community Connections: Elderhood
Join guest guide, Stefanie Haug LICSW, (she/her) for a series of theme-based Community Connection Walks. Each walk includes nature-based mindfulness practices, periods of group silence, and periods of circle sharing to reflect, listen, and share what may arise around the theme of the walk: elderhood. This series is to honor and reflect on the remarkable achievement of becoming an elder. While these walks will include gentle movement, they may not extend far into the cemetery. Rather, they will tap into the nature of the Cemetery as a doorway to sharing and reflecting on what elderhood means to the group of participants. Special consideration will be given for participants who may have mobility or other issues. For inquiries about accessibility, to request an accommodation, or for questions about membership, please contact friends@mountauburn.org.
Attendees are welcome to participate in one walk or in the entire series of walks. Registration is required as space is limited. Check-in will be outside Story Chapel. It is recommended to bring: comfortable shoes, water, and something to easily carry and sit on, such as a small mat.
