Art Study Center Seminar: The Earliest Coins

Art Study Center Seminar: The Earliest Coins

Join curator Laure Marest to explore some of the earliest coins ever made (7th–6th century BCE) in this hands-on session on Friday, May 17. Learn about what led to the invention of this enduring technology, and about the cities and kings who revolutionized methods of payment. Participants' questions and feedback will help the museums revamp the displays and interpretation of the coin collection. Free admission, but registration is required.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the program to allow sufficient time to sign in at the Art Study Center reception desk (Level 4), and be prepared to present a photo ID. All coats and bags must be placed in a locker prior to entering the study room. Children age 14 and older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
