9th Boston JerkFest
The 9th Boston JerkFest™ is a two-day outdoor Caribbean style foodie festival that features Jamaican jerk spiced food plus all things spicy and hot. Festivities will take place on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 at the Harvard Athletic Complex– just over the bridge from Harvard Square. Boston Jerkfest features authentic Caribbean, international and local spicy food for sale including spicy meals, jams, nuts and desserts as well as traditional homemade Caribbean drinks. There will be live music entertainment throughout the weekend. A Kids & Culture stage will offer family-friendly performances plus hands-on interactive activities, including the Cambridge Youth Steel Orchestra. Boston JerkFest kicks off with a rum and brew tasting fundraiser for 21+ attendees on Friday, July 1. The fundraiser features live music plus unlimited tastings of a variety of local and international Caribbean themed libations, spirits, wine, artisan beverages and local craft beer. The famous Cocktail Throwdown featuring rum inspired cocktails will return. A new component of the festival this year is the launch of Boston Hot Sauce Fest on Saturday. This addition will feature the best hot sauces in New England, as well as hot pepper value-added products and farms featuring hot peppers.
