“Everybody Who’s Anybody” Opening Reception
May 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Curated by local artists and community organizers Alexandra Adamo & Christian Chipman, “Everybody Who’s Anybody” is a unique exhibition that promises to humanize the act of creativity by showcasing individuals who have seldom had the opportunity to display their work in a gallery setting before. These contributors are neighbors, familiar folks from various walks of life – community leaders, educators, caretakers, or simply people whose creativity has never been recognized in traditional artistic spaces. The goal of this exhibition is to amplify their stories and showcase that creativity can live in many forms, often outside the realm of formal, capital-A Art.
In an art world that only sees credibility in commercial success and mainstream recognition, “Everybody Who’s Anybody” pushes back against these norms. By focusing on people who haven’t been showcased in traditional galleries, the exhibition will foster a conversation about what makes someone an artist and what stories are being left out of the broader art discourse. Through multimedia curation, the exhibition invites viewers into the lives of the artists, shedding light on the personal journeys that influence their creative expression. This isn’t just an exhibition, it’s a celebration of diverse narratives and an argument that art is an integral part of everyday life.
