Bead Loom Workshop

Visit the Harvard Art Museums for a workshop with beadwork artist Katherine Santos, a member of the Choctaw-Apache Tribe and Fellow for Indigenous Art at Harvard’s Fine Arts Library. This workshop will explore beadwork as adornment, recordkeeping, storytelling and artistry for many Indigenous nations of Turtle Island.

Participants will learn how beading has been practiced on this land for millennia and how it has evolved as contemporary craft. Guests will create their own piece of beadwork using a bead loom. All materials will be provided. The hands-on session will take place in the Materials Lab on the Lower Level.
