The Cambridge Office for Tourism is guided by a 16-member Board of Directors representing a cross-section of Cambridge’s hospitality, business, academic, and civic communities. The Board provides strategic leadership and oversight to advance COT’s mission of promoting Cambridge as a vibrant destination while strengthening local neighborhoods and the visitor economy.

Board Composition

In accordance with the organization’s by-laws, the Board includes representatives from the City Manager’s Office, the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, Harvard University, MIT, Meet Boston, hospitality and restaurant leadership, and Cambridge residents. This diverse composition ensures broad perspectives and strong collaboration across sectors.

Together, the Board works to strengthen Cambridge’s visibility locally, nationally, and internationally—supporting jobs, local businesses, and a thriving citywide economy.

TDMD Committee

The Tourism Destination Marketing District (TDMD) is a state-authorized funding mechanism that enables lodging businesses to invest collectively in marketing initiatives that drive overnight visitation. Since 2021, our office has received TDMD funding to support Cambridge’s visitor economy. Oversight of these funds is provided by an eight-member committee of local hotel general managers, as required by TDMD legislation. The current TDMD Committee members are listed below.
