- This event has passed.
December 13, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Visitors are invited to travel back in time and explore some of the world’s oldest board games from the ancient Near East. This interactive workshop introduces the origins of games such as senet, mancala, the Royal Game of Ur, and al-qirkat. Participants can play and learn how strategy and luck have connected people for thousands of years. The session is designed for anyone who enjoys history, puzzles, or friendly competition.
Teen Saturdays Workshops are offered bilingually in Spanish and English and are designed to build community and enrich the museum experience for multicultural and Spanish-speaking teens. The $10 workshop fee includes free admission to all Harvard Museums of Science & Culture museums immediately after the session. Teens receive an HMSC membership after attending three or more workshops in a semester, or a free admission pass for a return visit if they attend one of the four sessions.
