In 1864, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow added his own contribution with the poem “Christmas Bells,” a hopeful call for “peace on Earth & goodwill to men” written amid the turmoil of the Civil War. On December 12, visitors are invited to celebrate the enduring power of storytelling to connect and uplift communities during the holiday season.
