Black History in Action Block Party 2025

This block party marks a milestone for St. Augustine’s African Orthodox Church. After years of effort, the exterior of the historic church has been restored, and the community is now turning its focus to the renovation of the interior to create a space filled with meaningful programming and cultural events.
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, neighbors and friends will gather at Old Morse Park for an afternoon of celebration with music, art, food and family-friendly activities. The event features Hip Hop Transformation, ZNT Arts face painting and games for children, along with plenty of time to connect with one another.
Following the festivities, the celebration continues at 4 p.m. inside the church with an oboe concert and artist’s talk by Lecolion Washington. Presented by Black History in Action in partnership with the Community Music Center of Boston.
