The Reservation has many recreational opportunities for urban dwellers. Whether walking or birdwatching, canoeing or in-line skating, the Charles River is a wonderful resource. Memorial Drive is owned and operated by the State Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). DCR closes Memorial Drive in Cambridge between Western Avenue and Mount Auburn Street. The closure is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting the last Sunday of April until the second Sunday of November.
