If you’re journeying into Cambridge by car, you’ll find parking options throughout the city. And while you can’t actually “pahk yah cah in Hahvahd Yahd,” Cambridge offers other places to leave your vehicle, including street parking, parking lots, and parking garages. The city is also easy to navigate on foot, by bike, or with public transit.
Parking Meters
Street parking is available in places with a designated parking meter. Pay attention to the signs that display important details, such as the allotted time and parking restrictions.
Price: Costs vary, but most are between $1.25–$2.00 per hour. Payment can be made using quarters or on Passport Parking with a small fee. Payments are not needed on Sundays or holidays recognized by the state.
Time Limit: The time limit is typically two hours but it may vary depending on the area. Parking meters are regulated by zone, not specific parking spots, meaning that once the limit is reached, to park again, a vehicle must relocate to a different zone.
Parking Lots
To pay in parking lots, use Passport Parking (with a small fee) or use the pay station.
