MIT After Dark: Rhythm

October 9 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

MIT Museum Lobby

Enjoy a lively evening of entertainment, science and tinkering. After Dark is a monthly adults-only, after-hours event at the museum. Full of science and surprises, expect demonstrations, tastings, conversation and interactive play.

The MIT Museum’s galleries will be open and there will be live music, a cash bar with drinks from Lamplighter Brewing Company and small bites from Tandoor and Curry for purchase. On October 9, learn how rhythm shapes the way we move, create and keep time. Guests can also explore hands-on making and tinkering activities in our Maker Hub and Learning Labs.

There will also be music at this event. Feel the African and Indigenous roots of today’s blues rhythms with DC’s Queen of the Blues, Carly Harvey, and experience the energy of MIT Rambax, MIT’s Senegalese Drum Ensemble. Then, dive into sonic experimentation with musician and composer Jessica Shand.
